Premier James Hardie® Siding Installers in St. Louis
World-class durability meets St. Louis style. Installation, Repair, and Design
The Gold Standard for Missouri Exteriors
In St. Louis, siding has a tough job. It has to withstand 100°F humid summers, freezing winters, and everything in between. While vinyl can crack in the cold and melt/warp in the heat, James Hardie Fiber Cement is engineered specifically for our climate.
At Acute Roofing, we don't just "hang siding." We are precision craftsmen. We specialize in transforming St. Louis homes—from the mixed-brick bungalows of South City to the sprawling estates of Ladue—using the only material proven to last for decades: James Hardie.
Why We Install the HZ5® Product Line
Did you know James Hardie engineers different products for different climates? St. Louis falls into the HardieZone® 5 (HZ5). We strictly install HZ5 products, which are specifically formulated to resist:
Freeze/Thaw Cycles: Resists shrinking and swelling when the Missouri weather flips overnight.
Moisture Rot: Unlike wood, it doesn’t rot when exposed to snow or rain.
Fire: It is non-combustible (a major insurance advantage).
Pests: It is impervious to woodpeckers and termites.
The Acute Roofing Difference: Many general contractors ignore the manufacturer's strict installation guidelines. We follow them to the letter—ensuring your 30-Year Non-Prorated Warranty stays valid.

Our Complete James Hardie Services
Custom Installation & Design
James Hardie Fits All Homes
Your home shouldn't look like every other house on the block. We help you design a facade that pops.
HardiePlank® Lap Siding: The classic, timeless look.
HardieShingle®: The look of cedar shake (perfect for Cape Cods in Kirkwood) without the maintenance.
Board & Batten: The modern farmhouse aesthetic currently trending in St. Charles County.
ColorPlus® Technology: We recommend pre-finished boards. The color is baked on in the factory, resisting fading and chipping better than any field-applied paint.
Not ready for a full replacement? We are one of the few St. Louis contractors who will handle targeted repairs.
Storm Damage: Replacing boards cracked by heavy hail or fallen limbs.
Improper Install Fixes: If your previous contractor nailed it too tight or missed the flashing, we can surgically repair the area to stop leaks.
Matching Existing Siding: We work to match the texture and reveal of your current Hardie or fiber cement siding.
James Hardie Siding Repairs
Many St. Louis homes are "front brick, side siding." We specialize in the critical transition areas where siding meets masonry. We ensure these joints are properly flashed and sealed to prevent water intrusion—a common failure point in local homes
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: Is James Hardie siding more expensive than vinyl? A: Yes, the upfront investment is higher, but the ROI is significantly better. It increases home resale value and lasts significantly longer than vinyl, often making it cheaper over the life of the home.
Q: Does Hardie siding need to be painted? A: If you choose ColorPlus® Technology, your siding comes pre-painted with a 15-year finish warranty. If you choose primed boards, they will need painting, but they hold paint 3-4x longer than wood.
Q: Can you install Hardie siding over my existing siding? A: Generally, no. To get the benefits and the warranty, we strip the walls down to the sheathing, inspect for rot, install a new weather barrier (house wrap), and then install the siding. We believe in doing it right, not covering up problems.
